What is the most important conversation?

No matter what you do through out the day, no matter how busy you are, there is this one thing that you should NEVER Skip doing!

Brushing your teeth? Having food? No!

These are nothing but sheer necessities of Life!

There is something more important I must say! It is COMMUNICATION-Communication with yourself!

It is OK if you havent spoken to your boy friend today, it is also OK if you did not gossip about the guy next door with your girl friend. But it is NOT OK to let go talking to yourself. We do take lot of efforts to know the people around us. In this process, we tend to lose ourselves. Do not let that happen!

'Know thyself' is a very ancient dictum that has an in-depth meaning even today!

Just have some ME Time everyday. Take a long walk or lock yourself up in a room, even better-talk to your reflection in the mirror! What have you done today?  Question yourself. Did you make yourself happy? Did you make the people around you happy? Did you pursue something phenomenal? Did you actually finish the tasks that you were meant to do?

Before taking any important decision in life or rather taking up any task, follow the 4 Ws and 1H technique!
 What? Why? Where? When? How?

Why and How are the most significant and critical questions that you need to answer yourself!!

This is the one thing that many of us forget and ignore but trust me, if put into practice, will give wonderful results. It will bring out the NEW YOU-Everyday!

Sometimes, Its good to Copy Paste!

Oh no! I am not talking about doing this in the exams!

Of course, I would be a hypocrite if I'd say I've never done this! :D

There are some people that I admire in my life!! To name a few:
  • Farhan Akthar and Amir Khan from Bollywood: because of their knack for perfection! They are such versatile people with sumptuous creativity , combined with never ending efforts to deliver what the audience would love to watch on screen !
  • Steve Jobs Obviously for the vision he had to shape up the tech world, His seamless passion for whatever he did and the STAY HUNGRY, STAY FOOLISH Attitude!
  • People like my Undergraduate college Chairman sir, Principal sir and a few others that I had the honor of knowing in my real life!
What makes such people unique? Is it that they were born with super powers? The answer is NO!

They too have the same physical structure like any normal human being. What matters is whats INSIDE..I personally call it SUBSTANCE.

I feel like copy pasting the elements that make up this substance within them!
I love capturing the essence behind their work and implementing it in my life.

Thats why I said, its Good to Copy, Paste ! :)

HABITS!!

Luckily, I have the habit of reading books!

When I was a kid Tinkles, Panchatantra Books and Enid Blyton's Adventures used to engross me totally into them !

Later on, it was Sidney Sheldon and Chetan Bhagat's books!

But, as the time passed by, I realized that I got nothing good out of such books, except for pleasure.
Maybe that was what I was looking for! Maybe I was reading books to seek pleasure and enthrall myself with the suspense stories.

Of late, my purpose of reading has taken a total deviation!
I am reading books that can help me develop my personality, Improve my thinking abilities-to sum it up, I am reading books to discover my true self and TO EVOLVE!

Hence, I am reading very few HAND PICKED books. The sci-fi, suspense thrillers do not please me anymore!

I have been reading a book lately!

This book has transformed my thinking by leaps and bounds!
Every page and every paragraph is inspiring!

All my further posts for sure would be having excerpts from this particular Book!

It is not just a book that you read once and put aside !
It can be a used as a daily guide- with reference to making our lives more effective, through our daily deeds and HABITS!!

THE SEVEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE by STEPHEN R. COVEY is the Book that has transformed me, Nope...EVOLVED me into a better person!

HABITS make or break the person !

Re-invent yourself! Re-discover yourself!

Don't cease to think and experiment with life!

Your best is yet to come!
Do not settle  on anything for temporary pleasures, till you achieve the BEST and BE THE BEST!

I believe in this quotation given by my friend:

YOU GOTTA BE THE FIRST, THE BEST OR THE DIFFERENT!

For all this to happen,

We gotta cultivate habits that define us - every day, every minute, every second!

Because:

If you define your habits today!
They would define you in the future!

CHANGE!

The one inevitable thing in our lives is CHANGE!
Everybody wants it!
But sometimes, it occurs when it is least wanted!
Just like an uninvited, unwanted guest!

It happened to me as well!
And I really cannot figure out a way to get over this change!
Maybe its because I don't want to !

Tough times never last ! But tough people do !
I hope I too am one of those tough people
I hope to get over my tough times!!

Old and New!

Old has memories
Old has experience
Old has wisdom
Old has passed by
Old times cannot be changed
Old has everything for a better NEW!

NEW is refreshing
NEW is exciting
NEW is unpredictable
NEW is a NOTION
NEW is NAIVE
NEW is Yet to be discovered and unravelled!

There is nothing you CAN(t) Do!

"Airplanes are interesting toys but are of no military use." - Marshal Ferdinand Foch (French Military strategist), 1911

"Man will never reach the moon, regardless of all further scientific advances." - Dr. Lee De Forest (Known as father of radio), 1967

What if NASA actually took these statements seriously?  Would we be witnessing the miracles of infinite space today?

Why complicate things? Let me quote some example statements from a common typical youngster's life!

"No! I do not think you have the caliber to pursue a career in music. What good can happen by just playing a guitar? "

"You are fit for nothing! You can never be successful in your life."

Ringing a bell in ur head, right ?

People keep saying a lot of things! Ofcourse it is their civil right as a citizen! Freedom of Thought and Expression!

But, it may not be appealing to the person at the receiving end! But you know, you do have the hidden freedom of power! The power to choose- to choose a response!

Whether you think you can do or cannot do depends all on the way you chose to respond !

When people ask Why?
Say Why not!

Be Proactive ! Not reactive !

Never ever cease to question and revolutionize the current trends! Thats the kind of stuff visionaries are made of!

" Stay hungry, stay foolish! "

Remember, CAN and CANT are only separated by a SINGLE alphabet!

Catch that one streak of thought that CAN be the change !!

INTERNSHIPS BEFORE GRADUATION:

You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist- A very famous quote coined by Mrs. Indira Gandhi is as much true today as it was 20 years back. In a student’s perspective, it is an undeniable fact that they should be open armed to embrace any opportunity that knocks their doors. Finding work can be a real challenge, especially if one doesn't have any experience. Yet to get experience one must first find a job.  It's a nasty catch that can be difficult to get around but an internship is a good way to do it.
There have been vast variations in the engineering trends in the last decade, in job trends and also in the mindsets of students, the factors being arbitrary. Students have increased inclination towards doing internships at early stages of undergraduate studies. Many new college graduates are uncertain what careers to pursue. Despite their qualms, they often embark on job searches, only to discover that the task is daunting. In this climate, an internship may be a good alternative. Interns gain professional experience that provides them an edge in the job market. They also offer one, a valuable learning experience, networking connections, and an opportunity to earn recommendations or a chance to get a job at the Host Company. An internship is a great first step to that dream job.
An internship is a testimony to the caliber of the candidate. It makes
the candidate’s profile much stronger and more appealing to an employer. It shows the commitment one has towards a field and also how willing one is, to invest both time and effort to get ahead of the learning curve.
The thought of working for free may not be exciting but an internship really is. Sometimes, students look out for paid internships as well, because for them paid internships become aids for extra pocket money. Apart from that, one gets the opportunity to meet people, attend cool events and feel happy working in an industry one loves. Working in a company exposes one to different ways of thinking and working. This breadth of experience is likely to stand one in good stead when caught in the mire of a problem. Getting experience is a great way to build confidence. A resolute and robust confidence is admittedly the gateway to one’s dream job! Besides, one day when working, a look back on one’s internship would be greeted with a fond and smug glow of self-congratulation for having taken that necessary step!

P.S : This is an article I wrote for a website. Just put it up to share it with you all !
